How the technique is done
During your appointment we map and customize a winged top eyeliner to complement your natural eye shape and desired lift. The technique focuses on a defined upper lash line with a lifted, winged finish, balancing length and thickness to create a polished classic eyeliner look that enhances lashes and frames the eye.
Initial sessions are scheduled for 120 minutes, allowing time for careful mapping, color selection, and application. A perfecting session is typically booked about 6-8 weeks after the first appointment to refine healed results; this follow-up is offered at no additional cost when the studio's cancellation and rescheduling policy is honored.
Healing and aftercare timeline
Expect pigment to appear about 30–40% darker immediately after application and for true color to settle in over weeks two to six. Typical scabbing or flaking occurs between days four and fourteen; never pick scabs. Keep the area dry for seven to ten days, use the aftercare ointment provided, and avoid sun exposure and makeup while healing.
Columbia's humid summers and spring pollen seasons can influence healing, so extra caution with moisture control and sun protection helps. The studio schedules a 6–8 week touch-up to perfect color and symmetry; for long-term upkeep, results may last several years and annual touch-ups are available if desired.
Choosing shape and longevity
Deciding on wing length and thickness is a balance between desired drama and what flatters your eye shape. A bolder, elongated wing suits fall and holiday looks, which is why October through December are our busiest months for this service. Your artist will map options so you can preview proportion and decide the level of lift.
Longevity depends on skin type, lifestyle, aftercare, and pigment retention rather than a fixed guarantee. Many clients enjoy results for several years but scheduling an annual touch-up can refresh color and definition. If significant fading has occurred or the original work can’t be appropriately refreshed, a new service investment may be required.
