Assessment and consultation process
LASER CONSULTATION REQUIRED PRIOR TO BOOKING. In a 1x1" micro-area appointment we begin with a mandatory consultation to assess pigment type, depth, tattoo age, and any scar tissue from previous technique. This meeting lets us measure the exact treatment area, confirm that no numbing will be used for micro areas, and estimate how many sessions may be necessary.
Because every tattoo differs, we cannot promise a fixed number of treatments or a guaranteed outcome. During consultation we explain trade-offs — denser pigments or deeper ink usually require more sessions, while older, faded work may respond faster. We also advise on seasonal timing: winter months (January, February, November) are busiest because sun avoidance after treatment reduces the risk of hyperpigmentation.
What the treatment feels like
A micro-area treatment is brief: the listed service duration is 15 minutes. No topical numbing is used on 1x1" areas, so expect immediate laser pulses and short recovery. Our staff focus on client comfort — reviews note an inviting, professional approach that eases nervous first-timers and clients of color. We monitor the area throughout to minimize discomfort and maintain safe technique.
After treatment, strict sun avoidance is essential to lower pigmentation risks; we counsel on sun protection and timing before you schedule if you spend time commuting or outdoors in Columbia’s humid subtropical climate. For convenience, many clients plan sessions around commutes on North Beltline or I-77, or combine visits with errands near the Forest Acres shopping district or a stop at Riverbanks Zoo.
Sessions, pricing, and packages
Price for this micro-area service is $80 and the appointment length is 15 minutes. Pricing is based on the tattoo’s measured treatment area; tattoos larger than 1x1" are measured and charged for the appropriate size. To save, purchase a series of nine treatments via the SHOP tab > PACKAGES before booking — packages are available for individual clients pursuing full removal.
The total number of sessions varies by ink color, depth, age, and any scar tissue; we estimate session counts during the required consultation and update plans as the tattoo responds. There are no guaranteed results. Scheduling needs shift seasonally — January, February and November are busiest — but we offer evening and weekend appointments to accommodate busy families and professionals in Columbia and surrounding neighborhoods.
